Lakeside Congregation for Reform Judaism is over 50 years old, founded in Highland Park, Illinois as a Reform congregation. Over the years it has gained a reputation as a place of welcome for all types of worshipping individuals and families, including those who have come from Orthodox and Conservative backgrounds, intermarried couples as well as reform Jews. The Board of Directors has maintained a goal of approx. 400 member families to preserve the warm close-knit atmosphere and welcoming style that allows all members to not only know the rabbi, cantor, educational director and staff, but to be close to each other and to share the wide range of activities we offer.
Lakeside is proud of the wide range of resources and opportunities they offer:
A dedicated professional staff, led by Rabbi Ike Serrota, friend and chaplain to The Interfaith Union;
Jewish worship in a contemporary Reform style;
A nationally accredited Religious and Hebrew School meeting Tuesdays/Sundays;
A commitment to the community around us in terms of social action and interfaith sharing;
Adult enrichment weekly programs that are distinctive, challenging and topical;
A Sisterhood of women and Brotherhood for men, uniting through synagogue involvement.
The community at Lakeside Congregation welcomes you to join them at Shabbat: dont be shy stay for the Oneg Shabbat and introduce yourselves! For more information, please contact
